The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is an upcoming electric version of the SLS AMG planned for release in June 2013. The production Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive was unveiled in 2012 Paris Motor Show, with market launch scheduled for June 2013. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive pricing in Germany starts at €416,500 (~ US$544,236).
Following the SLS AMG E-CELL prototype premiere, the production of SLS AMG E-CELL was originally announced in 2011 North American International Auto Show.

The production version of SLS AMG E-CELL includes four synchronous electric motors rated 392 kW (533 PS; 526 hp) and 880 N·m (649 lb·ft), 400V 48 kWh lithium-ion battery from Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (formerly Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines) rated 480 kW (653 PS; 644 hp), woven CFRP battery monocoque, independent multi-link suspension with pushrod damper struts, 402 x 39 mm front and 360 x 32 mm rear brake discs made in carbon fibre-strengthened ceramic. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive was set to go on sale in 2013.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive Engine
The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive will be powered by four electric motors with combined ratings of 552 kW (751 PS; 740 hp) and 1,000 N·m (738 lb·ft). Each motor can spin up to 13,000 rpm and weighs 45 kg (99 lb). In addition, the transmission allows each motor to selectively drive all 4 wheels. With this, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive accelerates from standing still to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive Battery
The SLS AMG Electric Drive will include a liquid-cooled 400 V lithium-ion battery rated to 60 kWh that delivers a range of 250 km (160 mi) under the combined New European Driving Cycle.[64] The 548 kg (1,210 lb) battery pack is made up of 12 modules, each comprising 72 lithium-ion cells. The system was designed as a collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains Ltd.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a front-engine, 2-seat luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-AMG of German automaker Mercedes-Benz and is the first Mercedes-Benz automobile designed in-house by AMG. The car, which has gull-wing doors is the successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and is described by Mercedes-Benz as a spiritual successor to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. SLS stands for "Sport Leicht Super" (Sport Light Super). The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is assembled in Sindelfingen, Germany.
The SLS AMG is featured as the cover car for the PlayStation 3 racing game Gran Turismo 5.

The car was featured in the Top Gear Series 16 Premiere, in which the three presenters use various sport cars to drive up a part of the east coast of the United States. Jeremy Clarkson brought along the car, praising virtually everything about the car (although he does mention that the doors are a bit excessive). Also in the Xbox 360 video game Forza Motorsport 4, Clarkson commented that "This is not just the greatest car Mercedes makes; right now, I think, it's the greatest car in the world."

The car is also used for the 2011 film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, as the Decepticon Soundwave.

A silver version of this car features in the television series The Cape, driven by Summer Glau. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_SLS_AMG

The Nürburgring is a motorsports complex around the village of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located about 70 km (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old "North loop" track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. The north loop is 12.8 miles (20.8 km) long and has more than 300 meters (1,000 feet) of elevation change from its lowest to highest points. Jackie Stewart nicknamed the old track "The Green Hell," and it is widely considered to be the most demanding and difficult purpose-built racing circuit in the world.

Originally, the track featured four configurations: the 28.265 km (17.563 mi)-long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("North Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("South Loop"). There also was a 2.281 km (1.417 mi) warm-up loop called Zielschleife ("Finish Loop") or Betonschleife ("Concrete Loop"), around the pit area.
