What's New in My Garage? SENNA UPDATE
It's been a long time since we had any news on what's happening with the repair of my McLaren Senna and also the imminent arrival of both my Toyota GR Supra and AMG GT R Pro, so let's head for an amazing road in the Ford GT for a garage update!
Will I buy a new Corvette C8? Having been at the reveal event I heard that it will be launched in RHD configuration which opens up some possibilities. The European cars will no doubt follow on after the US deliveries that you may already know of from the likes of TheStradman, Streetspeed717 and Emelia from DDE. Maybe it could be one to watch in the future.
How about some news about the McLarens, firstly with the 675LT Spider which has been at the dealership for a service, warranty extension check and also some minor issues resolved.
Next up comes the McLaren Senna, and what is happening with the repair of the Senna following the incident at the start of July. Unfortunately there are a few key parts that are required like the door and fender which aren't kept as spare parts and need to be built to order. We're thinking it might be November, perhaps December by the time it is back on the roads and fully restored to former glory with MSO calibration and confirmation.
When are the new cars arriving? The Toyota GR Supra and Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro are both on the horizon and due to be delivered in the new future. The Supra, of which mine is an A90 Edition is due for handover around the time I return to the UK after the Frankfurt motorshow in mid-September. The next in will be the AMG GT R Pro that is expected to follow straight after in October!
Where are all my current cars? The AMG G63 is in Germany, the GTC4Lusso is with my Dad, the Red Focus RS is with Mountune, the 675LT and Senna are with McLaren, the Ford GT is here in the USA, the Heritage RS and Vantage GT8 are hibernating in storage with the GT R waiting to be sold, so what about the Jimny...? Sad news I'm afraid, it has been sold as a friend of a good friend of mine was keen for it and with my limited days coming up in the UK and running out of parking space, logic dictated that it makes no sense to keep it right now.
How is the Ford GT keeping up during this tour? Ford did a great job of getting the faulty taillight replaced in New York when needed, and of course the new Akrapovic exhaust system was fitted at Galpin which is going well. Many people have asked about the fuel situation in the USA where 91 Octane fuel is equivalent to 97 RON in Europe, so it's no concerns at all. The biggest problem is luggage space which severely limits the journeys that the GT can be used for, especially when travelling with multiple people and luggage.
