We Keep Losing Supercars at Sea
The Lamborghini Aventador. Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Bentley Continental GT. Just a few examples of cars currently sitting on the bottom of the ocean.
When the car carrier Felicity Ace sank in 2022 and took nearly $400 million in luxury cars down with it, including some of the final V12 Aventadors built, everyone was shocked. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Over the last century, shipwrecks have claimed thousands upon thousands of cars—final run supercars, one-off concepts, ultra-luxe sleds. Some are lost in the inky dark, further down than even the Titanic. Others you can still see with the right scuba gear. With the Felicity Ace disaster turning two this year, we decided to round up some of the best/worst stories of cars lost at sea. And ALMOST lost at sea, too.
