For Volkswagen Paris 2012 is all about the new Golf. However, the German Giant has also shown off a new concept version of what the new Golf GTI 'might' look like.

It's probably the least concepty concept that ever did roll this earth. It's got all the hallmarks of a GTI - red piping around the grille, tartan patterns on the seats, a honeycomb grille and and evolution of the Mk V special 'Monza' alloys.

Power is said to be plugged at around 220bhp which is... Enough for such a small car. That should comfortably offer a 0-62mph sprint of around 6.5seconds and a top speed approaching 150mph.

Expect the concept to become a little more real in 2013.
