The Amazing Secret Cars and Garages of LOS ANGELES!
Los Angeles is home to some of the greatest cars in the world, many of which live in secret garages you never have seen! Let's explore three incredible collections tucked away in the city featuring amazing cars worth countless millions.
With three venues to explore, first up we head to the world famous Petersen Museum to explore the 250-car vault beneath. While 90-minute guided tours are available to learn about the cars, normally it is impossible to bring in a camera and share what lies within. With huge thanks to the team at the museum, we can pick out some examples from within including cars owned by Elvis Presley, a line of US Presidential vehicles, plus some more modern hypercars.
Also there, lies part of the collection from Bruce Meyer, who we visit next, however this is a true connoisseur's collection of Le Mans 24H history. For example the 'winningest' Ferrari 250 Testarossa, likes the 1961 class winning Ferrari 250 SWB, plus the first ever production AC Cobra and more. When we then head to Bruce's 'Used Car' dealership we can also find the Porsche 935 winning from 1979, a pair of Mercedes 300SLs, chassis 1 Ruf CTR 'Yellowbird' and more including a new Ford GT in a very special paint.
The final stop on the tour takes us to Swank Rides Garage; one of the most stunning presentations of a car collection I have ever seen. Surrounding a sea of American classics are neon lights, gas pumps and memorabilia galore. This is the ultimate definition of a mancave, with carefully curated display items to link up to the cars.
A huge thanks goes to all at the Petersen Museum, Bruce Meyer and his team, and to Swank Rides for the opportunities to explore these respective secret garages.
