The $2m Koenigsegg Gemera That I Chased AROUND THE WORLD!
Reunited with the Koenigsegg Gemera that I've been chasing around the world! We also have an exclusive opportunity for the first ever time 4 passengers have been onboard the Gemera together for a taster of what's to come with this Swedish 1,700hp hyper-GT.
Having initially seen the reveal of the Gemera and been shown around it directly by Christian von Koenigsegg approximately a year prior, I've seen it since in person in Germany, Switzerland and the UK, before now it makes a journey across the United States including a stop at Koenigsegg Florida. For me, that means coming back into contact with the very same prototype showcar of the Gemera that I've now filmed on two different continents and this time around for something very special.
Joined by Christer from Koenigsegg, Josh from Koenigsegg Florida and Puppi150, we can take a seat onboard this early model for a short ride to get a small sense of what it's going to be like for the 300 customers of this incredible car as they can ride in comfort up to speeds of 250mph / 400km/h. The technically that makes this possible is fairly remarkable with the "Tiny Friendly Giant" combustion engine that's a 2.0litre 3cyl turbo unit making 600hp, with an additional electric motor, all of which sends 1,000hp to the front wheels. Then, there are two additional motors at the rear for a combined theoretical output of 2,000hp which equates to 1,700hp and 3,500Nm in total given the varying power and torque charts - no small numbers.
After a quick look around the car in the showroom, we can get it out into the Miami sunshine before the experience. However, it would be wrong not to also take a look at the Jesko Absolut, also travelling on the same schedule around the entire world. There will be 125 total units of the Jesko, split between Track and Absolut depending on customer preference; the latter of which is positioned to be the fastest car that Koenigsegg will ever make and aiming to go well over 300mph.
What an incredible opportunity to get a small taster of what this remarkable car is going to offer to the customers. A huge thanks to all those involved in setting it up.
Thanks for watching, Tim
