Rolls Royce's EV Has Unreal Sound Insulation
We wondered how well the 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre would block out exterior noise, so we parked a high-revving motorcycle next to it with the window open, then rolled it up to seal the cabin. The difference was night and day. Our microphones recorded a 34-decibel whisper at idle, rising to just 65 decibels at wide-open throttle, and settling into a 63-decibel murmur at 70 mph. The Spectre is the first EV from Rolls. It carries the same 102.0-kWh battery as the BMW i7 and in our 75-mph range test, we managed to get 260 miles out of it.
