NEWS on My SENNA REPAIR!
There's finally some news about my McLaren Senna! Join me to visit the car for the first time since the incident to discover how the repair is coming along. We can check out some of the damaged panels and new parts, as well as find out how long until it is back on the road!
A few months ago, unfortunately the right side of my McLaren Senna was caught by a truck moving lanes on the M25 which lead to cosmetic damage to parts including the door, quarter-panel and wing. These kind of body parts are not kept in stock due to their value so it's been a lengthy process to have them manufactured but fortunately all arrived just in time for my first visit after the USA tour!
Setting off from London for a 250 mile round trip meant a great excuse to stretch the legs of the Vantage GT8, to be re-united with the Senna for the first time since the day of the incident itself. The car is displayed in the investigation room where all damaged panels are removed and some of which we can actually see, as well as all the new parts in the carbon fibre glory. The fortunate news is that the damage does not extend beneath the surface other than one small radiator; there is no damage to the power train or mechanical elements which would have been much more complicated.
What has to be happen next is a trial fitment of the pieces, then all will be painted using paint supplied directly by MSO for a perfect match. The standards are all done to match original factory quality and as such when things are finished they will be totally back to brand new. You won't be surprised that it's of high importance to me that the car will result in as new condition, and fortunately I'm very confident it will match that or better!
Thanks goes to those that made it possible for me to share with you how it's all happening from here, I certainly appreciated being able to see the car myself and understand what is next.
Thanks for watching, Tim
