New Porsche 911: Beats a Range Rover off-road!

Introducing the Porsche 911 Dakar!

That’s right, it’s an all-new 911, but this is far different to any 911 we’ve seen before. It’s a jacked-up variant of the 992 Carrera 4S, and it’s been designed for rallying instead of race tracks!

So what do you get with the 911 Dakar? Let’s start off with the design. This 911 has had a whole load of features added to it to make it suitable to handle a number of different terrains. There are stainless steel skid plates across the front, sides and rear, coupled with some stainless steel air intake covers upfront. There are a unique fixed spoiler around the back, some black plastic wheel arch extensions, along with the carbon fibre-reinforced bonnet from the 911 GT3.

Naturally, there are a number of other modifications, too. The ride height has been increased by 50mm (with the option to increase by a further 30mm available), along with some heavy-duty, specially-developed Pirelli Scorpion tyres. It also comes with bespoke driving modes, such as off-road mode, rally mode and rally launch control.

The inside looks traditionally Porsche, but with a number of changes. The most notable change? The back seats have been ripped out and replaced by a roll cage! There are also some deep bucket seats, and a whole load of 911 Dakar badging throughout.

Interested? Well, you’ll need to be quick! Only 2,500 911 Dakars will be built, and they’ll cost from £173,000 each! But is it worth it?! You’ll have to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
