New 2020 LAND ROVER DEFENDER! Lives Up to the Hype?
Checking out the brand new Land Rover Defender to find out if it lives up to the hype! With Omaze you can win a new Defender 110 First Edition and $20,000 cash with taxes and shipping included: https://bit.ly/You-Win-Omaze-Defender
To discover it for the first time, I'm at Harwoods Land Rover Edenbridge, who kindly made it possible to take out both their 110 D240 and 110 P300; the diesel and petrol variants respectively. Before getting on the road, they've also produced a fantastic display including a number of older models of different types to check out, before going through from top to bottom through the new car to see all about it.
After decades of retaining the same body style, the new model of the Land Rover Defender has taken a totally different path. The design incorporates numerous cues and elements made famous of the car's history, but takes a totally different approach rather than trying to be an updated version of 'the same thing'. Inside it has the latest tech with digital displays, but based around a structural dash design that gives the rugged impression you expect from such a car.
Initially available as the 5-door 110 version, the 3-door 90 version will follow. For now there are the diesel D200 and D240 engines, with the petrol P300 to be joined in future with a P400 and maybe even a model with a V8.
Thanks to Harwoods Land Rover in Edenbridge for making it possible to drive two of their Defenders:
