It has started, my McLaren Senna is now officially in production at the McLaren factory! To get the countdown rolling, I drove over to the MTC in my 675LT Spider to take a sneak peak at what's going on while simultaneously catching the launch of the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition phone.

Any opportunity to take the 675LT Spider out for a run is a good one, but even more so on a clear winter's day to return back to its home where it was assembled 2.5 years ago. The arrival to MTC is always special, driving around the lake, this time to be greeted by a fantastic line-up with multiple Sennas and the Speedtail model on the Boulevard with many more significant Formula 1 racecars and the Le Mans winning F1 GTR.

Before heading through to adjacent MPC (McLaren Production Centre), a booth awaits from OnePlus housing the new 6T McLaren Edition mobile phone for a quick unboxing. The phone itself actually features a carbon fibre rear design with McLaren Papaya orange speed strip running around the outside; as well as some top of the line features including Warp Charge 30 and 10GB of RAM.

Next it's for me to get a very first look at the assembly of my McLaren Senna in the main plant and some insight into how it is all built. From the early stages where the carbon tub meets some of the components that will eventually form the final car to seeing others reaching the testing stages towards the end. From here on comes some sleepless nights as it will be a few weeks for completion by the time the car has been through final build, testing, road shakedown, transport, PDI, registration and ultimately ready to be collected.

Thanks goes to OnePlus for the invitation to join them for the launch event of the 6T McLaren Edition, and if you'd like to get your hands on one you can find it here:

Thanks for watching, Tim
