Michael Schumacher age 44 birth date 3 January 1969) is a former racing driver from Germany. Michael Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One World Champion and is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. Michael Schumacher holds many of Formula One's driver records, including most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions and most races won in a single season -- 13 in 2004. In 2002 Michael Schumacher became the only driver in Formula One history to finish in the top three in every race of a season and then also broke the record for most consecutive podium finishes. According to the official Formula One website, Michael Schumacher is "statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen".

After beginning with karting, Michael Schumacher won German drivers' championships in Formula König and Formula Three before joining Mercedes in the World Sportscar Championship. After one Mercedes-funded race for the Jordan Formula One team, Michael Schumacher signed as a driver for the Benetton Formula One team in 1991. After winning consecutive championships with Benetton in 1994/5, Michael Schumacher moved to Ferrari in 1996 and won another five consecutive drivers' titles with them from 2000 to 2004. Michael Schumacher retired from Formula One driving in 2006 staying with Ferrari as an advisor.[6] Michael Schumacher agreed to return for Ferrari part-way through 2009, as cover for the badly injured Felipe Massa, but was prevented by a neck injury. Michael Schumacher later signed a three-year contract to drive for the new Mercedes team starting in 2010.

The two brothers repeated this achievement in four more races (the 2001 French Grand Prix, the 2002 Brazilian Grand Prix, the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix and the 2004 Japanese Grand Prix).

Michael Schumacher was there on that occasion because Ferrari would not allow anyone else to drive the one-of-a-kind black Ferrari FXX which was featured in the show.[187] The FXX was presented to Michael Schumacher upon his retirement at Monza in 2006.

On 29 December 2013, Michael Schumacher was skiing with his son at a resort in Méribel on the French Alps when he fell and hit his head on a rock, sustaining a head injury even though he was wearing a helmet. Michael Schumacher was skiing outside the marked pistes at that time. Michael Schumacher was attended by two ski patrollers and airlifted within fifteen minutes to a hospital in Moûtiers, and then on to a hospital in Grenoble specialising in brain injuries. It was later revealed that Michael Schumacher was in critical condition and coma due to a brain trauma, and had undergone neurosurgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Michael Schumacher is under the care of physician Gérard Saillant, who is a brain and spinal injury expert and a personal friend of Michael Schumacher. Schumacher's younger brother Ralf was a Formula One driver until the end of 2007.[12] Their stepbrother Sebastian Stahl has also been competing as a race car driver.[172] In August 1995, Michael Schumacher married Corinna Betsch[173]. They have two children, Gina-Maria (born on 20 February 1997) and Mick (born on 22 March 1999). He has always been very protective of his private life.
