McLaren W1 Race Mode Adds 2205 Lbs of Downforce

In the #McLaren W1’s Race mode, the car extends its rear wing backward by 11.8 inches and lowers the front suspension by 1.5 inches and the rear by 0.7 inch. McLaren says this adds 2205 pounds of downforce. Race mode also provides two powertrain settings: GP and Sprint. While Sprint engages maximum performance of the e-motor for one lap, the GP setting is said to deliver consistent, repeatable performance for the duration of a race by balancing the energy deployment and harvesting of the electric motor.
