Mancave on My Doorstep! Frankfurt's Hidden Porsche and BMW Collection
This is the Saugmotoren private car collection on my doorstep here in Frankfurt, Germany! It features a spectacular display of cars from Porsche and BMW, from a one-off Carrera GT, to an RS 4.0, and different generations of M3 including a rather special 'CSL'. As a space and mancave, it's also right up my street and inspiring for what I do next, so let's check it out!
For the Porsches we have a Carrera GT with a number of unique one-off details from factory including red calipers (normally always yellow), red contrast stitch and a carbon fibre steering wheel, plus it now has Manthey Racing suspension and geo along with a lift system installed. Next up comes one of the very first 991.2 iterations of the 911 GT3 RS, special because that means it's a non-OPF Weissach car of which not very many were built. Then it's to a legend in the form of the 997 GT3 RS 4.0, again a car that's highly sought after and very limited in numbers, as is the following 996 GT3 RS, 993 Carrera RS, plus a 997 GT2, before rounding out the Porsches with a special show car of the 987 Boxster S.
On the BMW front the line is amazing, from the E30 M3 that's been completely overhauled to an E46 M3 'CSL' based on a manual M3 (as the CSL was SMG only) but with full original parts to upgrade the exterior bodywork, seats and interior trim, plus the engine and wheels. Alongside it sits an E92 M3 from Team Schirmer, a complete racecar for the road plus a 1M running a number of Schirmer upgrades and a new M3 CS as 'the daily'.
Outside of the Porsche and BMW front, the garage is rounded out with a classic Opel Manta 400; the road going version of a race successful rally car, and a Ferrari 458 Speciale that's seen plenty of use.
However, while I continue my quest for my own future garage, this is exactly the kind of setup I am seeking. There's a perfect amount of space to organise the cars with easy access including some other features around, along with the mezzanine housing memorabilia and car toys to match. Having only just built the unit these are early days but the collection is incredible and soon to become even more so... watch this space!
A huge thanks to SaugMotoren for the opportunity to visit and share this amazing collection and garage with you, please do check out more at http://instagram.com/saugmotoren
Thanks for watching, Tim
