After many years of waiting, Jaguar fans may just have a successor to the E-Type... The leaping cat chose The 2012 Paris Motor Show to launch its all-new F-Type - a modern Jaguar sports car.
First up - it looks stunning. While some have criticised its front three quarter view, they should rightly be ignored - in the metal the new Jag simply shines. Is it better looking than the Porsche 911 and Boxster it's gunning for? Maybe...
There are three engines on offer - two V6s with either 335 or 375bhp or a V8 with 488bhp and a 189mph top speed. The lower-powered cars could almost be considered economical with 35mpg+ and near 200g/km emissions.
Sadly, one thing stands in the way if the F-Type's success - its price. Apparently a base model with no toys will set you back nearly £60,000, while the V8 will set you back around £100,000. Ouch. So... An F-Type or a Boxster or a 911? Well, how patriotic are you feeling?
