Bentley Is Replacing Its W-12 Engine

The time has come for Bentley's 6.0-liter W-12 engine to point west and head off into the sunset after two decades of production. It will be replaced by a hybrid V-8 called the Ultra Performance Hybrid, which Bentley says is capable of producing more than 740 horsepower and driving 50 miles in an electric-only mode. The automaker released a short audio clip showcasing the engine's suitably low growl under revs, but we'll have to wait a while longer before we know which vehicle will be the first to feature the new powertrain.
